After many years of my artwork successfully passing the very stringent selection process for the Society of Equestrian Artists Annual Exhbitions in London I was honoured to receive promotion to Associate Member in 2005. This was something I had always hoped to achieve but never thought that I would, so it is much cherished.
This is one of my SEA submissions. I met this horse, Eddison, whilst the Household Cavalry were on their hols at Bodney Camp in Norfolk and he was waiting to take part in their demonstration. I do like the challenge of painting military bridles with all their different textures. This painting also shows a new direction for me, as I discovered linen (grey) canvas and also deep canvases where I can dontinue the design story by carefully painting around the sides, sometimes creating an almost 3D image.
