NEW PRINT: Trotting Shire Horse in Decorated Harness

Wow! In this class especially for heavy horses, it is the harness that is judged, for cleanliness and balance, rather than the horse.  There are regional variations to the harness which can involve the addition of wool. brass turrets and bells.  Many hours of hard work will have gone into this turnout.

The inspiration for this pastel piece came from the the challenge of capturing the intricacy of the harness, with all its different textures and so that it all works.  Also this bay horse is in the peak of condition with his dappled coat, and he moves really well.  Bay horses are so difficult to paint as their coat is made up of so many layers of colour in order to get them to glow from the inside.

Limited Edition available as two sizes: to fit a 12 x 10 (edition of 100) or 20 x 16 (edition of 75) frame.  An amazing combination of horse and harness, together with a lovely feeling of movement.
