The challenge with this painting is to capture the character of this Young Highland cattle because with their long, thick forelocks it is sometimes difficult to see their eyes. Their extra thick coats were developed to help them cope with the harsh Winters of Scotland, from where they originated.
With my cattle, sheep and goats I like to capture them in a very natural way - mid chew!
This small gem of a painting is in acrylic on linen, giving a harmonious yet rural feel. It is unframed as this is not needed though you may add one later. At approx 20 x 20 x 3.5 cm it doesn't take up much room, will fit between beams or as part of a group.
A lovely little character to share your home or to gift.
