What a handsome chap, he has the looks to go with his presence. A lovely head study of this black bull - I love to paint animals with horns.
I painted the original on grey linen canvas, where he just grows out from the background. The depth of colour is built up with many layers of brown before adding the final very dark, nearly black tone.
This wonderful chap can look great in a black frame as shown as a suggestion.
