Such beautiful colours.  The "eyes" on the tail feathers shoot out like fireworks, very dramatic.

 

Also known as the Common or Blue Peafowl it originated in India but became an ornamental species in the grounds of many British stately homes.

 

The original painting is available from the Harrods of Hingham Gallery. It is painted on a deep cotton canvas approximately 12 x 24 inches and as the design continues around the sides it almost looks 3D from some angles.
